Since 1995, the International Solid State Dosimetry Organization, ISSDO, promotes and assists in the organization of the triennial Solid State Dosimetry Conferences, ensuring their continuity.
ISSDO currently invites the submission of proposals from interested individuals and/or organizations to host the 20th International Solid State Dosimetry Conference (SSD20) to be held in 2022.
Criteria to be considered by the ISSDO in the selection of the venue include the proposed conference location, the economics of participation, an appropriate local sponsoring organization, and a proposed budget.
It is desirable that potential conference participation be maximized and that, over the long term, the conference be held in different parts of the world where significant work has been carried out in the solid state dosimetry area.
It is also desirable that training courses, such as the Marko Moskovitch School (former SSD Summer School), be offered as part of the Conference-related activities.
A formal, written proposal for the venue of the next conference must be sent by electronic mail to the Chairperson of the ISSDO:
Prof., Dr. Anatoly Rozenfeld
Director, Centre for Medical Radiation Physics,
School of Physics, University of Wollongong
Tel: +61 2 4221-4574
Fax: +61 2 4221-5474
Deadline for sending in the application is 15 July 2019.
A representative of the proposed venue is also expected to attend SSD19 (as a Conference participant), to give a verbal presentation of the proposal to the ISSDO at the conference and to answer questions as may be required by the ISSDO.
The ISSDO members will evaluate the proposals and, if a selection is possible, the venue of SSD20 will be announced at the conference dinner of SSD19 on Thursday, 19 September 2019.
Further information can be found in the Constitution of ISSDO (ARTICLE VI: CONFERENCE VENUE).
